Kenwood Chef titanium - I have grown up in a kenwood chef family, my grans had the a701 models and my mum had the newer A901 which I used before I got married. All of these kenwoods are still working today after over 40 years use. I have just got the new chef titanium and it is fantastic, the build is great and it has no plastic body parts and it is quieter than the older models. My chef is in constant use and all the attachments that I had for the A901 fit it. The beaters are all stainless steel and can go in the dishwasher and wont discolour,The mincer, liquidiser, herb mill, potato pealer, pasta maker are all fantastic too. Dont be put off with the price and shop around it is a brilliant piece of kiy and will serve you well, once you have a kenwood you wont use any other food mixer. The kenwood chef has got better with age and will outlast many of its rivals. It will knock the socks off any food processor even the magimix which gets a good rating in which. If you are thinking of buying one go for it as it will serve you well and you wont be dissapointed. It is a classy piece of kit and many friends have commented on it when they have been in the kitchen, mine sits on the worktop and is used most days I even mash my potatoes in it just go for it and buy it you wont regret it.My elderly aunt who is now 92years old still uses her kenwood chef with the original glass bowl it is even older than me as it was the firt model with the planetary action model A700.You might think I am a bit aof an anorak when it comes to the Kenwood chef but as i said earlier I have been used to using one since i was very little and grew up with it so dont be put off with other thing like Kitchen aid with there retro colours go out and buy yourself a godd Kenwood chef it will give you years of great serviceand your baking will be fantastic.I hope that you find this review helpfull. Graham Hunter a kenwood chef fan!!
First Class Kitchen Machine - Buy it, you will be glad you did - I held off from buying the Kenwood for years. Now I have purchased the Titanium and it has been fantastic. The processor does not handle the quantity that my old Braun processor does, but if I need more than a 10oz mix I do 2 batches. It has done bread, cakes and merangues for me, successfully and with ease. Whipped cream and souffles. Its quieter than I expected. The liquidiser does a very good job for soups (thats about all I use that for) I also purchased the mincer/sausagemaker/kebab attachement. The mincer is a godsend as I have rheumatics and turning the handle on the old mincer is a chore. Processing the meat to make bugers does not give the right consistency. I have not yet tried it for pate or faggots. I am going for the pasta attachment next. 10/10 I am well pleased with the machine.
OH WOW! A wish fulfilled. - So okay this probably will put me in the past saving category, but I have wanted a Kenwood Chef since I first did Domestic Science at school around 1977! Oh yes I am that ancient. So now I have it all bright and shiny and new, even better than that it only cost me £179.00 inc P&P from AVIDES Media AG via Amazon, unbelievably good value. Not only do I have the mixer, there is a food processor attachment and a glass liquidiser attachment, all the basic tools and a cook book outlining recipes to get the best out of my brand new friend. Maybe I need to get out more but the KM010 really is a thing of beauty and I was surprised how relatively small it is in real life.In all honesty I probably could not justify paying around £400 for one of these, I love to cook but I live alone so massive capacity is not necessary. But I have M.E/C.F.S so any kind of manual effort is very tough and exhausting. But now I can rely on my Titanium friend to bash, smash, grind and mix, allowing me to enjoy the end results. This machine is pretty unbeatable, but at under £200 it is a total steal.
Poor build quality and customer service - Kenwood have a great reputation as the ultimate must have kitchen accessory however I have been disappointed with both the durability and customer service. After 3 months of use it started to fall apart. The glass part cracked and plastic parts just fell apart. I can t help but conclude they must have cut costs during manufacture and quality control has suffered. When we called customer srvice we were very surprised that they accused us causing the problems by either dropping or using boiling water. We expected a simple replacement as it was under warranty - be warned.
Kenwood Titanium Scores! - After deliberating about the merits of the Kenwood against the fancy dan Artisan (undoubtedly goodlooking but not as fast)I finally placed a order for the Titanium. This item lives up to all my expectations in that it can handle a double mix of Nigellas Scones (no mean feat that). Currently I ve just given it a double mix of Be Ro Banana bread to have a go at and it more or less growled and said Gimme more of a challenge you wimp! What about that a machine that talks back and does what it says on the tin. Haven t tried all the other attachment but once I have I shall update you: surely you ll all be gagging to know how my new electrical friend handles other tasks. Yes maybe I should get out more and I can t believe that I can be excited about a kitchen gadget for heavens sake but there you go, I m getting older and blagging my way into clubs has lost its appeal. However I do wear a frilly neon pink apron does that count for hip?Karen Barefoot and in the kitchen
